As a long time sufferer of sciatica, I am always searching for some way to take stress off of my lower back while sitting at my office desk for eight hours per day, five days per week. I once visited a chiropractor who told me that the only way to relieve the almost constant pressure on my lower back would be to lay down all day. Well, that's not exactly practical, is it?!?! I have tried everything I can imagine to take the pressure off of my lower back: weekly chiropractic and massage treatments, shiatsu chair massages, etc, but this latest discovery of mine has proved as much if not more beneficial than all other treatments combined! I have discovered the memory foam cushion. I keep it at my office and have it on the seat of my office chair all day. Though obviously not a cure for my sciatica, I notice that I sit more upright in my chair for those long work days, and my improved posture has made a significant difference in loosening up my usually tight lower back muscles, and thus, has decreased my lower back pain.
The Praxis Memory Foam cushion is a versatile, light weight, portable, and durable mobility aid. Used as a seat topper for either a standard or wheel chair, the cushion adds several extra layers of softness for anyone seeking relief from pain due to hemorrhoids, anal fissures, arthritis, bed sores, sciatica, or any other type of backside discomfort. Patients recovering from surgery who find it difficult to sit for a certain length of time will welcome the soft support offered by the Praxis Memory Foam cushion.

The memory foam cushion promotes correct posture by boasting a built-in lumbar support that redistributes pressure and helps to minimize lower back discomfort by promoting proper spine alignment. As a mobility aid, the cushion straps to secure to any seat, and assists people in rising out of the wheelchair. The Praxis Memory Foam cushion is the perfect size, height and density to allow people to stand easily from the chair, also “boosting” height to those staying seated in the chair.

The cushion is created using the most state of the art materials possible. Memory foam, which was originally developed by NASA to decrease the very high pressure caused by the extreme g-force occurring during the take-off of space shuttles, is the main component of the cushion. Memory foam is now used primarily for medical products, such as wheel chair cushions, hospital bed pillows, and padding for persons suffering from long-term pain or postural problems. Memory foam’s heat-retaining properties may help some pain sufferers who find the added warmth helps to decrease pain.* The cushion cover is removable, machine washable, and made of stretchable terry cloth with an anti-bacterial auratex base.

Medi-Buy is currently having a special on the PRAXIS Memory Foam Meditation Cushion. Originally $89.99, it is now marked down to $49.99!
